Strutting into my white painted bedroom, a smile immediately forms across my face. A room filled with pretty furniture from Brocade Home & CB2 along with accessories from HomeGoods and Target, I have managed to build a room that emmulates my soul, possessing many, many things that I love. Take a look..
|| My bed is super comfy. I bought my ruffled bedspread off of Amazon.com. My Indian Inspired throw pillows are form HomeGoods. They looked too busy on my bed so I put them on top of my silver Brocade Home benches. They add a pop of color in an unexpected place! ||
|| I use empty wine bottles for decorating, I mean I have like a million so why not, by using them as Breedazzled bracelet holders! || On my nightstands I keep my books that I like to read to unwind. Many have to do with Buddhism but I also read comics! ||
|| Lying in my comfy bed in my Kings of Cole fashion girl sweat pants, I admire my Victorian Style Brocade Home mirror and my desk that is soley used for decorative value, I do not actually do work there… ||
|| My “selfie perfect” mirror. ||
|| My desk that I don’t use to actually do “desk things” at. All for show & for holding my pretty things. The elephant chandelier type thingy I have hanging above my desk is a souvenier from my trip to Santa Fe, NM. My grandmother was kind of confused by that purchase, but I really like it! ||
|| Under my desk I keep my Buddha lamp because it looks kinda cool underneath. I love my orange printed stool, it’s kind of amaze. It is by Brocade Home. ||
|| Love. Dream. Hope. Three essential keys to life. ||
|| A mini look inside my closet, which I will save for another post. ||
|| An Orange Buddha head from HomeGoods ||
My room is truly perfect for me. Here are some tips on how to make your room look like your soul literally threw up in it!
1. Over the years I have had rooms of every color of the rainbow and so far, white is my favorite. Why? I do not get sick of it and when I want to add some colors to change the vibe a little bit, I can do so with a simple and cheap switch of accessories. Not everyone would be a fan of my stark white walls, but you do not have to be so extreme. Choose an off white or beige to acheive the same neutral environment feel.
2. My accessories. Like I previously mentioned, I add color with my “things” such as Buddha heads, throw pillows, benches, and even books. I let my “things” add the pop of color because I can switch them around easily, and it allows me to use many colors in my room in a cohesive way. If my room was painted, say, bright pink like it was back in my teenage bitch years, I could not display all of my pretty “things” because the atmosphere would be way too “busy” looking.
3. Since I am a “fashion girl”, I wanted to achieve a boutique feel in my room. The inventory being my own personal collection of “fashion girl” items, my favorite being my Breedazzled bracelets which are prominently displayed on my desk and drawers. My bracelets are on the wine bottles like I said before and my rings are inside a Martini glass, get it? Cocktail Rings, literally!
4. My shaggy area rug is super important for my room because the floors are wood. It adds warmth and lightens up the super dark finish of the floor. My dog Dakota also loves it, so that is another major plus. I bought it super cheap on Amazon.com by searching “shaggy area rugs”, DUH.
5. I hung two square cork boards over my desk and decorated them with clothing tags, sketches, and even jewelry. I keep cool clothing tags because I just like them. They look super cute collaged on my cork boards and help me remember brands that I like! My newest fave clothing tag is from the MINKPINK jacket I just bought from Urban Outfitters.
